Smith Ready to Tackle Double Duty at Berlin Raceway

The Crooks Racing crew and development driver, Zane Smith, have a full weekend of racing ahead of them at Berlin Raceway in Marne, MI. Smith is on double duty, running both the 100 lap Pro Late Model JEGS/CRA feature Saturday night as well as the Super Late Model ARCA/CRA 251 lap ‘Berlin 251 Challenge’ on Monday night. This is another first time track for Zane.
Smith is coming off a 3rd place finish at Crisp Motorsports Park last weekend. Also, set his second straight fast time award. (Previous was set at Mobile International Speedway) He and team are looking for their first SLM win of the 2016 season. Smith’s last win was the big PLM race at New Smyrna Speedway during Speedweeks.
Mondays ARCA/CRA event will be the first race of the ‘Triple Crown Series’. The three major point’s events for the ARCA/CRA Super Series, the Berlin 251 at Berlin Raceway, the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 at Anderson (IN) Speedway, and the Legendary Winchester 400 at Winchester (IN) Speedway will make up the three events in the challenge for the Crown title. If a driver wins all 3 events, they will take home a $100,000 bonus.

Friday: Practice 4 – 8 pm
Saturday: Practice at 2 pm
JEGS qualifying at 5 pm
Racing activity begins at 6:30 pm (JEGS/CRA All Star Tour race will be the final race)
Sunday: Practice 3 – 5 pm (Qualifying order will be set on Sunday’s practice speeds)
Monday: Practice at 1:30 pm
Qualifying at 4:30 pm
Racing at 6:30 pm
